Deep Dive: Cultural Master Planning for a New Community
Saturday, October 14, 2017
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Building a vibrant, diverse community is impossible without incorporating the arts. But too often, cultural planning feels like an afterthought, or an add-on rather than a must-have.
In this highly interactive session, we will use Union Point as an opportunity to define a new way of cultural master planning. Architects, developers, artists, advocates and community organizers – – anyone who cares about building stronger communities – are welcome to join as we focus on solving problems before they are problems, and creating a workable approach for a new kind of development.
Through a series of short talks, group exercises, and creative brainstorm, we will identify solutions to common problems of cultural master planning. And we will leave the session with actionable items and immediate follow-up as part of Union Point’s Art Master Plan Workshops.
