Harvard Innovation Labs Startup Showcase and Stories
Wednesday, October 11, 2017
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Harvard University and the Harvard i-lab
A picture may be a worth a thousand words, but true connection and impact come from storytelling.
Join the Harvard Innovation Labs for a showcase of the remarkable breadth of companies emerging from its ecosystem, as we explore the importance of storytelling in the context of innovation and entrepreneurship.
For the innovator, no matter what industry they're in, story connects information to both the emotions and the imagination of the listener. The way in which a person tells their own story, the story of their company, or the story of their experiences can make all the difference in landing an investor, attracting the best employees, building a community of customers, and ultimately, in developing a successful business. As marketing and communications guru Seth Godin puts it: “Marketing is no longer about the stuff you make, but about the stories you tell.”
Hear from a group of select Venture Incubation Program (VIP) teams as they share their own stories from a wide variety of business perspectives and industries, followed by a showcase where you can meet multiple VIP teams. The evening will also feature a keynote speaker exploring the relationship between story, business development, and branding, and an introduction by Bruce and Bridgitt Evans Managing Director Jodi Goldstein.
