Live BRIght Futures Event: Presented by the Brigham Research Institute; 5:00-5:20PM
Join us for a special, live pitch session and help shape the future of research! Hear from the 2017 BRIght Futures finalists whose cutting-edge projects focus on using ultrasound waves to treat patients with epilepsy (Break the Shake: Ultrasound Treatment for Epilepsy); targeting cancer cells to treat brain tumors (Ready, Aim, Fire: Targeting Advanced Brain Cancer); and a pill people can take to help reverse type 2 diabetes (Surgery in a Pill: Reversing Type 2 Diabetes). Finalists will deliver short, engaging talks focused on how their ideas will solve a challenging problem and improve the lives of patients. The event will be livestreamed on BWH’s Facebook channel and will be available for viewing after the event for those who cannot attend in person. The public vote will determine which finalist will receive a $100,000 prize from the Brigham Research Institute to catalyze their innovative, translational research.
BRight Futures Showcase: 5:20-6:00PM
After the presentation portion of the event, the 2017 BRIght Futures finalists will share their research projects with you. Individual “perspective booths” will give you the opportunity to meet these innovators in person, ask any questions you may have about their projects and vote for a winner. This will take place in conjunction with an overall networking event, which will also feature expo tables highlighting other innovative teams and projects within Brigham Health.
